Panaji: Several hundred people thronged on Monday the streets of Panaji to pay last tribute to their beloved leader Manohar Parrikar, who passed away on Sunday.
The area around BJP’s office in the heart of Panaji city was jammed with people who arrived here to pay tribute to their leader on his final journey.
Parrikar who expired on Sunday would be cremated with State honours and full military honours on Monday evening at Miramar beach.
The mortal remains of Manohar Parrikar were brought at party office from his private residence wrapped in tri-colour flag in Panaji on his way for final rites.
The truck carrying his remains travelled from Dona Paula to Panaji, a distance of five kilometers. People had lined up on the way to have a glimpse of this leader who rose to became Defence Minister in Union cabinet.
