Panaji: A senior BJP leader on Tuesday rubbished the apprehensions that eight Goa MLAs who had shifted to their party from Congress are unhappy for not being accommodated on any of the position in State government.
Party’s Goa Desk incharge C T Ravi said that there is no discontent amongst any of the eight MLAs who have shifted to BJP earlier this year over non inclusion in any of the position in the State government.
A section of media had reported that few of the eight MLAs were unhappy for not being inducted in the cabinet after joining BJP.
Ravi said that the media was spreading such rumours as it requires “masala”.
“I don’t know whether there was any understanding or demand to accommodate these MLAs into the state government. I know that they are very much happy in the BJP after joining here,” the leader said, talking to reporters after attending the Core Committee meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party in Panaji.
When asked whether there will be cabinet reshuffle and any of these MLAs would be inducted in the ministry, Ravi said “it is the prerogative of the chief minister to decide who should be inducted in the cabinet.”
He said that all the eight MLAs would be given responsibility in the organization. “BJP works for the happiness of the people and not of any individuals,” Ravi said.
