Mandrem: Sarpanch Amit Sawant who is aggrieved after his name was not mentioned in the nameplate during the inauguration of Mandrem police station.
The Sarpanch on Thursday began his fast below statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj along with his supporters.
Sawant had demanded that his name be mentioned in the plate.
His name had also disappeared from the invitation cards distributed during the inauguration of the police station.
Reacting to his agitation, Arolkar told GNH “everyone is free to protest in the democracy. If he feels, injustice is meted out to him, he should continue the protest.”
