Panaji: Goa police have arrested a 23-year-old man from Haryana for sexually harassing a 28-year-old woman co-passenger during the flight from Delhi to Goa on Tuesday.
Dabolim Airport police arrested Jitender Jangian (23), hailing from Panipat, Haryana, for sexually harassing and outraging the modesty of a 28-year-old woman from Janakpuri, New Delhi.
According to the complaint filed with the police, the incident occurred between 11 am and 1.20 pm on Wednesday aboard Air India Flight AI-885, flying from Delhi to Goa International Airport, Dabolim, in South Goa.
The victim told the police that when the flight was airborne, the accused, who was seated next to her, pulled over the blanket and started engaging in objectionable acts.
The complaint mentions that the accused purposely kept the blanket open at the side of the victim during the objectionable act.
Police said that the victim filed a formal complaint against the accused when the flight landed at Dabolim Airport. The accused was arrested under Sections 75 and 79 of the BNS for sexual harassment and outraging the modesty of a woman.
