Major amendments to Griha Aadhar scheme

Panaji: In a major amendment to the Griha Adhar scheme, the government has excluded all the married women who or whose husband is employed in the government sector or it run corporation or autonomous bodies, from the benefit of the scheme.

Under the scheme, a monthly financial assistance upto Rs 1500 is provided to married women, widow or a divorcee.

Directorate of Women and Child Development today informed that the Griha Aadhar Scheme shall not be applicable for those married woman who or whose husband is employed in any of the entities of Government of Goa on regular basis such as Government of Goa or its’ Corporation or Autonomous organization funded by State Government, Government of India or any other State Government or its Corporations/Autonomous bodies, Scheduled Banks but excluding Co-operative banks.

It is also informed that, a widow or a divorcee shall be eligible for Griha Aadhar Scheme if her income does not exceed Rs.3,00,000/- per annum, which was earlier Rs 1,50,000 per annum.
