Maharashtra based Cancer patient tests positive for COVID-19 infection in Goa

Panaji: A 52-year-old Sindhudurg-based cancer patient who had arrived from Mumbai for a treatment at a private hospital has tested positive for COVID19 infection.

The patient was taken to Mumbai for a treatment where he lived for ten days before being shifted to a private hospital in Goa on Wednesday.

The man originally hails from Vengurla in Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra.

Sources stated that the man who came to a private hospital was referred to GMC for COVID-19 testing considering his travel history, before admitting him in the hospital building.

The TrueNat test conducted on him came positive, while final test is being conducted on him at the virology lab.
