Margao: Former Goa Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro is likely to get Congress ticket to contest from South Goa for upcoming, sources stated.
The party has already begun process to identify the candidates in North and South Goa Lok Sabha Constituencies.
Faleiro, who has strong connections in Delhi, has emerged as a frontrunner in the race for South, while in North, the picture is yet to be clear.
The other contenders including Francis Sardinha and Pratima Coutinho have been left behind in the race. Both – Sardinha and Coutinho – are trying their level best to get the ticket by lobbying hard in New Delhi.
What has worked in favour of Faleiro is his experience of working in Delhi and also of handling Seven States as Secretary of All India Congress Committee.
