Panaji: Goa Forward Party has said that inadequate policing in the coastal belt was responsible for violence against the locals in the region.
GFP North Goa President Deepak Kalangutkar said that the sparse policing on the coast is leading to incidents of non-Goans assaulting Goans.
He was referring to the murder of Amar Bandekar at Arambol.
Kalangutkar demanded that there should be a thorough inquiry into the incident and that the culprits should be punished.
At the same time, he said the Home Department should personally look into such incidents.
He added that there are misplaced priorities in policing, which is why the police are found on both sides of the bridge.
