Panaji: The fast unto death started by former General Secretary of Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee Aishwarya Salgaonkar demanding action against Pratima Coutinho entered fourth day today.

Salgaonkar has been protesting against her illegal termination from the post of General Secretary by resorting to fast unto death at Azad Maidan in Panaji.

The Congress party has refused to give in to the demand of its former leader, while none from the Congress has initiated any step to bring in peace.

Salgaonkar has demanded that Coutinho should be sacked for her action.

Meanwhile, support for Salgaonkar is swelling with several women from Siolim constituency led by social activist Shreha Dhargalkar protested at Azad Maidan on Wednesday.

They also burnt effigy of Coutinho.

Talking to reporters, Dhargalkar said that Coutinho should tender unconditional apology as she has insulted the modesty of a woman through her actions.

Salgaonkar has said that she will not withdraw the strike, till she is given justice.
