Govt should encourage hinterland tourism in Sattari Devendra Gaonkar

Sattari: The Government should make efforts to encourage hinterland tourism in Sattari taluka which is bestowed with many waterfalls, springs, temples, rivers and serene environment.

The locals feel that the tourism will push economic growth in this taluka.

The waterfalls, springs, religious places, farm houses, temples, and historical places will ensure the job for locals, thereby having boom in the business activity.

The taluka has seen several new farm houses being constructed in the state.

There are around 15 and more farm houses in Sattari taluka. It is expected that more farm houses will start.

In Sattari, there are around 13 plus mesmerizing nature’s creativity wonderful waterfalls, they are Saleli, Keri, Morlem, Kopardem, Pali, Charavanem, Hivrem, Surla, Nanoda, Sirguli, Bambar, Satrem, Brahmakarmali, Shelpe, Chorla Ghat, Dabem and many others. All this waterfalls are monsoon waterfalls. And all this waterfalls are located in Mhadei wildlife sanctuary. In monsoon every weekend almost thousands plus picnickers and trekkers are visiting these waterfalls.

Also the Sattari has emerged as the latest hotspot for shooting Indian films in Goa like Thugs of Hindostan, Saat Hindusrani, Dum Maro Dum, Khelein Hum Jee Jan Sey, Go Goa Gone, Vastav and many more movies had shot in the Sattari.

The one of farm house owner, who’s farm is located in Saleli village called Raj Farm house. The owner of Raj Farm house, Vishwajit Krishnarao Rane said that in the 21st century tourists dont want the beach life since it gets boring they want a serene environment which is guaranteed in the villages.

We had already putted the proposal to the Government of making the hinterland tourism in Surla village with the help of our local MLA Pratapsing Rane and now we have reminded to the Health Minister Vishwajit Rane that to make the hinterland tourism in our Surla village.

The hinterland tourism will provide us emploment in our village only, and our village is nestled in western ghats. The Valpoi MLA Vishwajit Rane told us that, he will do his best in making the eco tourism in Surla village said Suryakant Gaonkar, Deputy Sarpanch Surla village.
