Panaji: Goa Forward party chief Vijai Sardesai on Monday lashed out at the government for sidelining agricultural activities in the state. Vijai alleged that he had to file proposal for community farming as the then agriculture minister was missing.

He was speaking at an event where the Fatorda MLA distributed vegetable seeds and manure under the banner of ‘WE FOR FATORDA’.

“Goa government is bankrupt. 45 water pump files by farmers from Quepem constituency are pending. Files for water pump agriculture schemes are pending for more than 3 months in ministers cabin,” Sardesai said.

Sardesai further alleged that, “The government is planning to paralyse agriculture and promote ganja.” He also demanded to increase the procurement price.

Extending solidarity to the farmers at the national capital Sardesai said, “Farmers are agitating at Delhi’s border since last many months. KISAN from the Lal Bahadur Shastri s slogan Jai Jawan Jai Kisan is in death track.”
