Panaji: Inorder to encourage farmers to cultivate their lands, government intends to start interest free farmer loan scheme, announced Deputy Chief Minuster and Agriculture Minister Vijai Sardesai.
Sardesai said government is waiting for the Union Budget to be tabled in parliament after which the scheme would be formulated.
Sardesai was speaking while inaugurating Zonal Agriculture Office in Sanguem in presence of local MLA Prasad Gaonkar.
“A loan amount of rs 1.60 lakhs for one year , Rs 5 lakhs for five year & Rs 8 lakhs for 8 year period can be given if the scheme shapes up,” he said.
Sardesai further said that Israel has moved forward ahead in Agriculture & the technology used in Israel is very much innovative. “We can use such technology in Goa to take Agriculture forward,” he said informing that delegation from Israel would be visiting Goa in the month of August.
