Goa runway closed on Friday evening due to emergency landing of naval aircraft

Vasco: The flight operations at Goa International Airport were affected on Friday after an naval aircraft had to do emergency landing, leaving runway unavailable for the civilian flights.

Goa Airport Director SVT Dhanamjaya Rao said that the runway was closed from 4.50 pm till 6.30 pm on Friday after Indian Navy’s aircraft had to do an emergency landing.

He said that the runway was not available for the civilian flights between that time, due to which four flights were diverted.

Rao said that three flights were diverted to Mopa International airport located in North District of the state while another flight was diverted to Mumbai.

He said that the flight operations have resumed as usual at the airport.
