Goa police raid pharmacy, seizes cannabis based products, owner arrested

Panaji: Goa police on Wednesday seized cannabis based products of more than Rs two lakhs from a pharmacy near Panaji, which was allegedly being run illegally.

Superintendent of Police (North) Shobit Saxena told reporters in Panaji that cannabis based products like gummies, digestive powder and ‘churan’ all worth Rs 2.23 lakh were seized from a pharmacy at Porvorim village, on the outskirts of Panaji.

He said Arjun Khanna, originally from Delhi, who owns the pharmacy ‘Cannadoc clinic’ was arrested by police under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Saxena said that during the raid on the pharmacy police found various products containing cannabis which were on the display for the sale. He said that the staff could not provide the required documents permitting sale of such products.
