Goa Forward party leaders meet striking mining workers at Bicholim

Bicholim: Keeping up its word of being with the people affected with the closure of mining industry, the delegation of Goa Forward Party today called on the striking mining workers at Bicholim, assuring them complete support on behalf of the party and its leader Vijai Sardesai.

The delegation assured that Goa Forward Party, which understands the ethos of the local population, will stand by those affected with the closure of mining industry.

Goa Forward leaders also informed the striking workers that their leader Vijai Sardesai will keep up the pressure on the government so that the mining is resumed as soon as possible.

During the discussion, the striking workers requested Goa Forward Party leaders to  call on the Regional Labour Commissioner with regards to the retrenchment of the workers.

Goa Forward leaders have assured that they would brief the Party President about their demands and would ask Vijai Sardesai to intervene in the matter with regards to the retrenchment and arrears issue which has been pending with the mining companies.

Goa Forward leaders have assured that the Party would stand firmly with the striking workers.

They further said that the state government and the central government should join hands together to solve this mining crisis which has left more than one lakh Goemkars Jobless.

Goa Forward Party would be continuously monitoring the mining crisis situation and be with the people.

The delegation was led by Goa Forward leaders Durgadas Kamat, Santosh Kumar Sawant and was accompanied by Chowgule Union leader Sandeep Ghatwal.
