Panaji: Goa Forward Party inaugurated its new office premises at Edcon Mindspaces building at Campal in Panaji city, taking another step forward in its journey.

The new office was inaugurated at the hands of party Chief and Deputy Chief Minister Vijai Sardesai in presence of all its MLAs, Office bearers and well wishers.

The office premises was blessed by the heads from Hindu, Christian and Muslim religion, who offered prayers at the premises. Sardesai formally lighted the lamp to inaugurate the office.

Recalling the times when Goa Forward Party was conceptualized, Sardesai said that none took the political initiative seriously when the parties like AAP were advertising their claims of winning over 40 per cent of the votes in Assembly election.

“We were asked questions like, what kind of the party is Goa Forward when it is not contesting on all the 40 seats?,” Sardesai said adding that “the party contested on four seats and won on three, creating a record.”

He further said that another history was created when all its three MLAs were inducted in the cabinet.

“During the course of all this, I had to listen to the abuses on Facebook. People who were hurling abuses on me are still on Facebook and we have moved to the new office premises,” Sardesai added.

“This is fastest, strongest and highest growing regional party in the country and regionalistic party,” he said.

Sardesai said “there are regional parties but some of them are communal, some of them are casteist.”

“We are with the true agenda. Our agenda does not have caste and creed, or religion, or agenda is goemkar first. This does not make us less patriotic. We are not only saying but we have proven by action that whatever we are saying we have done,” he added.

Sardesai said that the party had promised to protect Coconut tree, which it did and also gave it a status of State Tree. He also pointed out that the history of Opinion Poll would now be part of syllabus.

Several dignitaries including Chief Minister Pramod Sawant arrived at the new premises to wish the party all the success in future.
