Panaji: Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) in its pre-budget memorandum has suggested promotion of agro-service centres at taluka level through cooperative societies who would hire out services of agri machinery to needy farmers.

“The subsidy of 75 per cent of cost of agri machinery may be provided as incentive from government. This would generate rural employment and help to overcome shortage of labour,” GCCI President Manoj Caculo said quoting the pre-budget memorandum to state government.

The apex industry body has also suggested that organic agro products may be promoted in the state through opening of special outlets of Goa State Horticulture Corporation.
