Bicholim : Activities such as clearing of the forests have always posed a threat to wildlife.
The Animal rescue Squad-Goa, Amrut Singh, feels that deforestation to make way for the Walshi/Bordem bypass road has affected the habitat of snakes living there.

In a facebook post he informed, “It has been observed that due to deforestation for making the Walshi/Bordem bypass road, Snakes living in and around the same area has been affected and are escaping”
“A harmless Forsten’s Cat Snake was found in a house, which was sitting on the window of the resident’s house who lives in a nearby housing board which was later on released in his natural habitat,” informed Amrut Singh.
Singh has also posted a video of the rescue operation on his facebook profile.
