Panaji: In a good move, Revolutionary Goans has launched a fogging drive to curb the mosquito’s spread across the state. The team will be carrying out fogging in open areas, drains, grounds and near residential areas.
The team from Navelim kicked off their fogging drive on Tuesday. The team is being led by Bento Silva.
“This drive will go in for a month and will cover all the villages of Salcette. Due to the illegal hutments of migrants in fields the dengue and malaria cases are on a rise in Goa,” said Bento.
While another team from Cumbharjua Constituency carried out mosquito fogging at
PDA Colony and Dulapi.
“Revolutionary Goans firmly believe that this activity will help to bring down the number of Malaria and Dengue cases in the state. Our plan is to carry out fogging in the entire Tiswadi taluka,” said Viresh Borkar, who is heading the Cumbharjua team.
Fogging is being carried out in Curtorim constituency where migrant’s slums have mushroomed. Revolutionary Goans leader from Curtorim, Johnashua Quadros opines that mosquito’s breed wherever they can and carry the sting of dengue. “We have launched this fogging drive across the state to prevent the spread of mosquito related diseases. We would also be taking up a campaign to make people aware about how to prevent these mosquito related disease,” he said.
