Sankhali: Finally the Town Library for public in Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s Constituency. It was a long pending demand of locals to start a public library in Sankhalim town. And finally the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant have fulfilled the demand of his constituents.
On Saturday, the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had inaugurated the Sankhali Town library in presence of the Art and Cultural Minister, Govind Gawde. In Sankhalim town there are many Schools, Higher Secondary, College and Ravindra Bhavan. But earlier there was no library in Sankhali town. So finally the Chief Minister have started the libray in Sankhali town, say locals.
The Art and Culture Department have started the Library in Sankhali Town at behind the Sankhalim Ravindra Bhavan. The earlier that building was the Ravindra Canteen, and now that building has converted in to the town library. There are total 1,500 books in Sankhali Town library and the total three staffs are working in this library.

At the inaugural function of library the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the today’s generation has to focus on reading also, the reading makes us smart and intelligent.
Where as the Art and Cultural Minister, Govind Gawde said in his speech that the public library is very important in our life. And to keep this things in mind, the Art and Culture Department with the help of Central Library, we are opening the library in all parts of Goa. The library opening the door of knowledge and library connects peoples to peoples.
