Fatorda police rescues homeless woman, NGO Street Providence provides her shelter


Margao: Fatorda Police has rescued a homeless lady at 12.15 on Friday night, NGO Street Providence told the media.

Donald Fernandes from NGO Street Providence said that the lady claims her name to be Memita Barretto and keeps mentioning about different villages when asked about her residential address.

Fatorda police team led by Police Sub Inspector Dindayalnath Redkar had called Street Providence last night after the lady was brought to the police station.

The lady was dropped to the shelter home run by the NGO at 3 am

LPC Vidhya Sakhalkar and PSI – Dindayalnath Redkar drops the lady by 2.45 am which I was watching on the CCTV on my mobile at 2.45 am, he said.

“All our homes are on CCTV and it’s about 150 cameras running non stop in all 8 homes Linked to my mobile,” he added.
