Dr Medha Salkar, staff members visit flood affected area at Sal village in Bicholim

Dr Medha Salkar and her team of doctors today visited the flood-affected areas at Sai Village in Bicholim and did fogging and spraying. Sarpanch Ghanashyam Raut and other Panch members and villagers were also present on the occasion.
Sister Pratibha and and MHW Shivaji have distributed ORS packets and tablets to surrounding houses. Dr Salkar has advised that In view of floods there may be fever outbreaks and Loose motions cases especially in children will also be seen in coming couple of weeks.
“Other causes of Fever please suspect Leptospirosis, Malaria and Dengue. Keep a watch on possible Vector borne outbreaks.Keep adequate supply of commonly used and essential medicines like Paracetamol and ORS in your houses. It’s also available in all Subcentres and if required they will be made available in the areas affected with floods. In case of any fever outbreak inform Chc bicholim immediately,” said Dr Salkar.
CHC staff will visit also visit other affected areas in the days to come and will take necessary precautions like fogging and spraying and if need be camps in affected areas. She has also appealed all villagers to please cooperate with the staffs.
