Cuncolim: Accused Gaurav Katiyar sat on the chest of his wife Diksha Gangwar and immersed her head in the water between two rocks at Rajbag beach, the forensic investigations have revealed.
The postmortem conducted on on the body of Diksha has revealed that she died due to “compression of chest while submersion in sandy water.”
The forensic experts, on the condition of anonymity, said that there is every possibility that the accused sat on the chest of the deceased as he submerged her head in the sandy water.
The panel of doctors from South Goa District Hospital comprising medico legal consultants Dr Bharat Shreekumar and Dr Anup Chandran conducted the autopsy on the body.
The experts led by Dr Madhu Godhikrikar, chief of South Goa District Hospital’s forensic department, on Tuesday visited the site at Rajbag to reconstruct the scene of offence.
What is interesting is that the entire murder would have gone unnoticed if not for a group of tourists who were shooting video from a point from where one can get bird’s eye view of the entire beach.
