Porvorim: Goa Forward Party chief and former Archives and Archeology minister Vijai Sardesai on Tuesday told the House that digitization of the records is one of the biggest challenge before new minister Chandrakant Kavlekar.
“Digitalisation of Archives is one of the biggest challenge before you and it should happen,” Sardesai said supporting the demands for grants for the department on the floor of the House.
The minister said that the Archives is our wealth and it symbolizes our Goenkarponn. “You will have to digitize the archives. We had asked it to give to the smart city mission. If any department can do it, they should do it,” he said.
He also said that the building of Archives department should be reconstructed or should shift to new premises to save the records being damaged.
