Porvorim: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Wednesday dropped his deputy Sudin Dhavalikar from the cabinet.

In a communication addressed to Goa Governor Mridula Sinha, Sawant has informed about dropping of Dhavalikar from the State cabinet.

“I have dropped Sudin Dhavalikar from the cabinet. The decision on filling up the vacant seat will be taken very soon,” Sawant said.

Dhavalikar was allotted Transport and Public Works Department portfolios which would be now reverted back to the Chief Minister.

The dropping of Dhavalikar has left one vacancy in State cabinet vacant which is likely to be filled by Dipak Pawaskar, a former MGP MLA who along with Manohar Ajgaonkar, merged legislature wing in BJP.

State Governor Mridula Sinha who is in New Delhi now, has cut short her visit and would be arriving in Goa later during the evening to administer the oath to the new minister.
