Cuncolim: President of BJP Minority cell of Cuncolim constituency, Polita Carneiro has files formal complaint with Goa BJP President Sadanand Tanavade against Cuncolim Municipality’s Vice Chairperson Virendra Desai for misuing the authority and power of the name of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
In the copy of the complaint, copy of which is with www.goanewshub.com, Carneiro has said that Desai is a Brother-in-Law of the Chief Minister. The complaint has accused him of fraudulently re-electing Congress Councillor Succorina Coutinho as Chairperson of Cuncolim Municipal Council by throwing out her, who is BJP worker and a councilor.
She has said that Desai, who is claiming to be BJP supporter, backstabbed her as she was all set to be the Chairperson of the municipality, since Succorina Coutinho had voluntarily resigned from the post Chairperson due to mutual understanding between the Women councilors of the CMC.
“When everything was smoothly going and the Succorina did not withdraw her resignation within the stipulated seven days, Desai forced Succorina to fill the form again which was proposed by Kiran Naik of Sanvorcotto ward by giving her false promises to two councilors that he will give them government jobs and assuring another two councilors that their municipal wards will be reserved as per their convenience to contest coming Municipal elections again,” the complaint reads.
She has said that Desai is not above the party to act the way he wants by misusing the authority and power of the name of Chief Minister,who is doing good job.
