COVID-19: Goa reported 21 per cent positivity, 1432 new infections on Friday

Panaji: Goa reported one of the biggest spike of COVID-19 third wave with 1432 people testing positive for the infection, registering 21.72 per cent positivity on Friday.

As per the bulletin released by the State Health department, the state reported 1432 positive cases on Friday, taking the total toll to 1,86,198.

The positivity rate hiked from 20.46 percent on Thursday to 21.72 per cent on Friday.

The figures of fatalities due to COVID-19 infection touched 3,530 as two of the patients succumbed to the infection during the day.

The number of recovered patients in the state rose to 176737 with 112 of them getting discharged on Friday. The number of active cases has peaked to 5931, the official said.

“With 6592 new tests, the total number of tests conducted in the state has gone up to 16,58,341,”  he added.
