COVID-19: Goa reported 20 per cent positivity, 971 new infections on Thursday

Panaji: Goa reported 20 per cent COVID-19 positivity on Thursday with 971 new infections, taking the total number of patients to 184766.

As per the bulletin released by State Health department, the state reported 971 positive cases on Thursday, taking the total toll to 1,84,766.

The positivity rate hiked from  7.72 per cent on Wednesday to 20.46 per cent on Thursday.

The figures of fatalities due to COVID-19 infection touched 3,528 as two of the patients succumbed to the infection during the day.

The number of recovered patients in the state rose to 176625 with 74 of them getting discharged on Thursday. The number of active cases has peaked to 4613, the official said.

“With 4744 new tests, the total number of tests conducted in the state has gone up to 16,51,749,”  he added.
