Panaji: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Sunday announced insurance over of Rs 50 lakh for the health workers who lose their life due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Sawant said that the insurance cover is provided under central government’s flagship Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana scheme.
The Chief Minister took on to twitter to announce the insurance scheme for the health workers, who have been assigned on various covid related duties.
“Insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh has been extended to all health workers in Goa,” he tweeted.
As per PMGKY, the scheme provides an insurance over of Rs 50 lakh per health worker in case of loss of life due to COVID-19 or accidental loss of life on account of COVID-19 related duties, he said.
