Panaji: The President of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee Girish Chodankar on Sunday said that his party will achieve 35 per cent vote share and will win 24 to 26 seats by getting a full majority. “Last assembly elections our vote share was 28 per cent, with blessings of Goans we are strongly moving towards our target of 35% to get 23-26 seats” Chodankar said.
Morjim ZP Member Satish Shetgaonkar along with his supporters joined Congress Party on Sunday in the presence of GPCC President Girish Chodankar. Vice President Babi Bagkar, Block President Narayan Redkar, Seva Dal Chairman Shankar Kirlapalkar and others were present on the occasion.
Chodankar said that Congress has a rich base of supporters and will try to take this base to 35 percent this time. “Many people are joining Congress, although there are other options for them. But they know that the Congress party is committed to the progress of the State and every individual.” He said.
“We are getting good feedback and blessings from people. Goans have experienced BJP and know how they have done destruction to our environment and sold jobs. BJP has always tried to suppress the voice of Goemkars and has done massive corruption.” He said.
He exposed Mandrem BJP MLA Dayanand Sopte, saying he has imposed ‘Sopte Tax’ on anyone doing business in the coastal constituency. “Sopte is more busy in collecting these taxes from the businessmen than concentrating on development. People will teach him a lesson this time for betraying and for indulging in corruption.” Chodankar said.
“We will win the Mandrem seat in this assembly election with the help of people, who are with us. Now people will bring big changes across Goa.” He said.
Satish Shetgaonkar said that he is happy to join the Congress Party, who has become the voice of people. “We will win the Mandre seat in this assembly election.” He said.
He further said that during ZP election people of Mandrem have rejected BJP MLA and party by defeating their both ZP candidates in Mandrem Constituency. It is clear that people are against them.
Babi Bagkar GPCC Vice President said with the support of Adv. Ramakant Khalap, Sangita Parab, Sachin Parab and Mandrem congress team, they will win seat.
Earlier Block President Narayan Redkar introduced Mr. Shetgaonkar and his team and also enrolled them as members.
