Panaji: The Congress Legislative Party (CLP) has demanded that government should come out clear with its stand on the contentious issues like that of tourist taxi issue and the Coastal Zone Management Plan (CSZMP).

The CLP that met on Tuesday under Chandrakant Kavlekar has decided to raise these issues in the House during the upcoming monsoon session seeking government clear stand on it.

“Government should come clear on the issue plaguing the state. Be it the taxi business where the tourist taxi owners are up against the government backed app or even the CZMP, they have to take a decision. These are issues concerning Goans and government cannot ignore them,” Kavlekar told reporters after the meeting.

He further said that the government cannot shy away from its responsibilities by pointing fingers at the previous governments.

Stating that the BJP led governments have failed to resolve various issues some of which have been pending since 2012, he said “If one looks back so many issues have been pending in the state since 2012. They have been in the government but the issues keep repeating and solutions yet to come. Neither mining issue has been resolved nor the casino.”
