Panaji: Congress party has strongly reacted to the failure of Goa government to provide basic induction training to the members of Child Welfare Committee.

Goa Congress Spokesman Amarnath Panjikar said that the failure of Dr Pramod Sawant led government to give basic induction training to Child Welfare Committee reflects the commitment of the government towards protection of the juveniles from the crimes.

“Sawant led government has failed in law and order and has been instrumental in making obsolete the bodies like CWC,” he said. Panjikar alleged that the concerned minister Vishwajit Rane was also busy in the job scams due to which he could not concentrate on such an important institution.

“The blame should also be shared by Chairman of this committee who is occupying the position without doing her duties. The CWC is an important body and Congress appeals that all the political appointees on this body should be shunted out posting the true professionals,” he said.

“Once we are in power, post March 10, our government will take review of such bodies like CWC,” he added.
