Panaji: Congress party has began the process to finalise its candidates for Shiroda, Mandrem by-election and for both Lok Sabha seats.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi has delegated the powers of the All India Congress Committee’s Screening Committee of Goa to a committee consisting of senior leaders.
The committee will comprise of AICC General Secretary/In-charge, AICC Secretaries, Pradesh Congress Committee President, Congress Legislature Party leader and AICC General Secretary (Organisation).
The committee will scrutinize the proposals received from the Pradesh Election Committee and shortlist the candidates for the consideration of the CEC before February 20, 2019.
