Concluding Session on Stress Management for Police Personnel Held in Partnership with Goa Police, VIANAAR, IMA Goa State, and Sangath

Panaji, Goa – October 30, 2025: The concluding session on stress management, focusing on areas identified as the need of the hour, was held at the Goa Police Gazetted Officers Hall, Altinho.

This program forms part of the Manas Mentors initiative, which was inaugurated in December 2024 by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, in the presence of DGP Alok Kumar (IPS) and senior officials of Goa Police, along with representatives of partner organizations VIANAAR, IMA Goa State, and Sangath.

The session was conducted under the direct guidance of K.R. Chaurasia (IPS), IGP Goa Police, and under the supervision of Dharmesh Angle, SP (HQ) & SP SB. It aimed to strengthen the mental well-being and emotional resilience of police personnel by addressing key aspects of stress management relevant to their professional environment.

So far, around 14 sessions have been successfully conducted across various police centres in Goa, attended by nearly 700 police personnel. These sessions, organized with the active cooperation of respective police divisions, have covered essential topics related to mental health and stress management.

This concluding workshop was also attended by
Dr. Shekhar Salkar, President, IMA Bicholim & Executive Member, IMA Goa State;
Aresh Naik, Chairperson, Sangath NGO;
Jones Samuel, Consultant – Public Relations, VIANAAR; and
Dr. Devdutt, Secretary, Goa State Chapter, Telemedicine Society of India (TSI).

Participants appreciated the valuable insights and practical coping strategies shared during the session, which marked the culmination of the Manas Mentors workshops. It was further decided that stress management issues among police personnel will continue to be addressed as and when they arise, ensuring a sustained focus on mental wellness within the force.
