Panaji: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar will present the State Budget 2019-20 before the State Legislative Assembly on January 30.

The three-day long winter session of the State Assembly will begin from January 29 with Governor Dr Mridula Sinha’s address.

The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) under Speaker Dr Pramod Sawant met today to discuss the business of the House. Parrikar along with Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo, MGP leader and Minister Ramakrishna Dhavalikar, TCP Minister and GFP president Vijai Sardesai and Leader of Opposition Chandrakant Kavlekar, attended the meeting.

Speaking to media persons post meeting, Sardesai said that Chief Minister will present Budget on January 30 and will take vote on account for five months. “It will not be a detail Budget presentation,” he said.

During the meeting, members urged Chief Minister to ensure that the monsoon session of the State Assembly, to be held in July, is of 21 working days; giving equal opportunity to all MLAs to raise their issues and House to introduce proper amendments and reforms.

“We have discussed in the meeting that the Monsoon session should be of 21 working days. Chief Minister has also agreed to it,” Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo said.
