Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has extended greetings to all teachers, educators and members of the teaching community across Goa on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
In his message, the Chief Minister said that September 5 is a day to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contribution of teachers in shaping the lives of our children and the future of our society. The occasion commemorates the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a distinguished philosopher, educationist and former President of India, whose life remains an enduring inspiration to the teaching fraternity.
“A teacher does much more than impart knowledge. A teacher awakens curiosity, encourages questions, builds confidence and, above all, nurtures values and character. The lessons taught in a classroom often extend far beyond textbooks and examinations; they influence the way young minds think, understand the world and respond to the challenges of life,” said the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister further stated, “Today, education is undergoing a remarkable transformation. Technology, digital learning and Artificial Intelligence are opening new possibilities for teaching and learning. Yet, even as the tools of education evolve, the human connection between a teacher and a student remains irreplaceable. The wisdom, empathy, encouragement and personal guidance offered by a teacher cannot be replaced by technology.”
“Our teachers, therefore, have the important responsibility of preparing students not merely for the careers of tomorrow but for a world that demands creativity, critical thinking, compassion, adaptability and responsible citizenship. Every child is unique, and every child deserves a teacher who recognises their potential and inspires them to believe in themselves,” he further added.
“The Government of Goa remains committed to strengthening our education system and creating an environment where both teachers and students can strive for excellence. I am confident that, with the dedication of our teachers and the collective efforts of parents, schools and the wider community, we can nurture a generation that is knowledgeable, skilled, compassionate and deeply rooted in our values,” the Chief Minister said.
“On this Teachers’ Day, I extend my heartfelt greetings and gratitude to all teachers, educators and members of the teaching community across Goa. Your dedication, often extending beyond the boundaries of the classroom, is an investment in the future of our State and our nation.”
“I also extend my warm congratulations to the recipients of the Chief Minister’s Vashishta Guru Puraskar, whose exemplary service and commitment to education inspire us all. May our teachers continue to illuminate young minds, inspire dreams and empower every child to realise their fullest potential,” the Chief Minister concluded.
