Porvorim: Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte said that he will oppose shifting of the Casinos from Panaji side to other side of the River.
Khaunte told reporters that the main issue is that the Casinos should be shifted out of River Mandovi and wherever they are taken, the local population should be taken into confidence.
“When the Port minister is trying to move this, I am sure he would be changing the boat bringing in the new vessel. He might bring a bigger vessel,” the MLA said.
“The smaller vessel might be used as a restaurant.
I am opposed to the idea of shifting. Verem, Porvorim people are at the same wave length,” he said.
Khaunte said that the shifting of vessels out of River Mandovi was part of the common minimum program worked out with then Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.
