Panaji: After becoming a single largest party, BJP will stake claim to form the government this evening by meeting Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai.
A senior BJP leader said that the party’s legislative wing will meet at around 4 pm in Panaji during which the leader of the group would be decided.
“After that, the party will stake claim to form the next government,” he said.
The BJP has said that all the three Independents who are currently leading towards the victory are in touch with them.
Dr Chandrakant Shetye, an Independent candidate who won from Bicholim assembly constituency, met Chief minister Pramod Sawant after his victory was announced, he said.
