Panaji: Ahead of Union Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Goa, Congress and BJP state chiefs were seen in a war of words in the poll bound state.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar talking to reporters on Wednesday taunted that BJP has called Union Minister Amit Shah to Sankhalim as chief minister Pramod Sawant knows that he is losing the election.

Shah is scheduled to address public meeting at Sankhalim on Wednesday.

Chodankar said that BJP knows that Sawant is likely to lose from Sankhalim that is why they have invited Amit Shah to campaign. He said that Shah would be addressing a public meeting to save Sawant.

The Congress Goa President said that AAP and TMC were the old Congress while the new Congress has 80 per cent of the new faces fielded for Goa elections. He said that Congress and Goa Forward Party will form the government with clear majority.

Goa will be going for polling on February 14.

Responding to Chodankar’s statement, BJP Goa Unit President Sadanand Shet Tanavade tweeted “Dear @girishgoa Bab, people of #Goa too knows that @INCGoa is losing; your refusal to campaign for your alliance partner @Goaforwardparty in #Fatorda raises a question of your credibility.”
