Beef supply in Goa likely to be hit as Karnataka contemplates law to ban cow slaughter

Belgaum: Karnataka’s Next assembly session is likely to pass a law banning the slaughter of cows. Chikkamaguluru MLA from Karnataka recently tweeted: “The cow slaughter ban will be a reality in Karnataka in near future. In have asked the Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhu Chvan to get ‘The Karnataka Prevention of slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Bill’ passed in the cabinet and present it in the upcoming assembly session.”

If the mentioned bill is passed in the Assembly the beef supply to Goa is likely to be affected. BJP’s National General Secretary C T Ravi, who was recently appointed the BJP party incharge of Goa, said the ban would be a reality in Karnataka.
