Panaji: On the last day of election campaigning, Congress party was rattled with another audio clip allegedly attributed to their South Goa candidate Viriato Fernandes.
The person with the voice similar to Fernandes is heard claiming that he wanted to contest on BJP ticket from Dabolim constituency.
The audio clip also has Viriato making allegations against Rahul Gandhi and the Congress leaders.
“So many people told me that the best option is Congress. How best option is Congress. They have made Rahul Gandhi as Pappu. Secondly, Congress is in leadership crisis in Goa. So how it is a good option,” the person is seen talking.
“If somebody can mediate between BJP, Church and me then the issue would be solved,” he said.
Congress party was quick to rubbish the audio clip.
Goa Pradesh Congress committee General Secretary Sunil Kawthankar has filed formal complaint with the Election Commission of India seeking action against those circulating the video.
Congress has said that the audio is doctored using artificial intelligence.
