Panaji: Goa’s NCP MLA Churchill Alemao on Thursday demanded that the 80 percent of the employment opportunities in Casino industry in the State should be reserved for Goans.
While talking on the Demands for Grants of Revenue Department during ongoing monsoon session of the assembly, Alemao pointed out that majority of workforce in the casino industry are from North Eastern states.
“I can understand that you want Casino industry as it helps the state exchequer earn the revenue. But at the same time, they should provide 80 per cent of employment opportunities to Goans,” he said.
Alemao said that there is no job in this industry that Goans can’t do. “We have educated youth, waiting for the employment opportunities. They should be employed on the casinos,” he said.
Goa has six off shore and more than a dozen on shore casinos operating in the State.

  1. Many Goan workers show highly entitled and arrogant attitude towards service. They also dont want to work hard labor. This is the reason why outsiders come in and are accepted. Goans are OK to go abroad and do things which #Rane honestly exposed. Fact of the matter, is we Goans want to hide our heads under the sand like an ostrich without wanting to solve fundamental issues plaguing our culture.
