Adv. Aires Rodrigues has today written to the Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik over the failure of the North Goa Collector Mrs R. Menaka to register an F.I.R against Raymond Fernandes the son of Depury Speaker Isidore Fernandes who was in January this year one of the 16 selected for the Awal Karkun’s post by the North Goa Collectorate but was later rejected as his BA degree was found to be from a fake University.
In his letter to the Governor, Adv. Rodrigues has stated that he has known and interacted with the North Goa Collector Mrs. R. Menaka since the time she was posted in Goa and has observed her to be a very outstanding officer of absolute fine calibre discharging her duties without fear or favour.
Stating that a perusal of Collector Menaka’s reply citing lame excuses for not registering that F.I.R seems to be at the behest of junior officers at the North Goa Collectorate, Adv. Rodrigues has alleged that the officers must have acted on the political pressure and directions of Revenue Minister Jennifer Monserrate who is known to be a close associate of Deputy Speaker Isidore Fernandes.
Drawing the Governor’s attention that the excuse for non-registration of that F.I.R given by the North Goa Collector being that the matter was is subjudice before the High Court was so very untenable, Adv. Rodrigues has pointed out that the High Court by its order dated 26th June 2020 had clearly refused to give any interim relief to the Deputy Speaker’s son Raymond Fernandes.
Urging the Goa Governor to judiciously examine the entire issue of the non-registration of that F.I.R and to issue appropriate orders in accordance with law, Adv. Rodrigues in his letter has stated that any person violating any law regardless of his political connections or financial wealth and social standing must never escape the mandatory jaws of law.
