Adhere to FDA guidelines and get NOC from local authorities: SGPDA to Wholesale fish traders

Margao: The South Goa Planning and Development Authority (SGPDA) has decided to consider the applications for NOC by Wholesale Fish Traders during its meeting on November 26.

SGPDA Member Secretary K Ashok Kumar in a communication issued on Thursday has also asked the Wholesale Fish Traders to get the permission from the local authorities, which is mandatory to process their application for NOC.

The Wholesale Fish Traders have been debarred from importing the fish in the State after Food and Drugs Administration has asked them to adhere to the guidelines.

The NOC from SGPDA, which houses the wholesale fish market, is one of the required document for the wholesalers to required to get the permission from FDA.

The SGPDA Member Secretary has said that the authority in its letter on November 15, 2018 had informed the wholesale traders that issue of NOC for carrying out wholesale fish trade in SGPDA wholesale fish market shall be discussed in the ensuing authority meeting scheduled on November 26.

Further, you are hereby directed to comply with the guidelines laid down by FDA and also necessary permission has to be obtained from local authorities or competent authorities that may be required for us to process the same, the communication adds.
