Panaji: Two days after AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal wound up his Goa visit, state’s working president Rajesh Kalangutkar resigned from the party expressing dissatisfaction over the the former’s statement on alliance.

After tendering his resignation, Kalangutkar said that he was upset after Kejriwal after his arrival in Goa on October 3 announced that AAP will not ally with any other political party.
He said that he is resigning from the post of working president and also from the primary membership of the party. Kalangutkar said that Kejriwal’s statement has made it clear that the party will go on its own, thereby dividing the votes of the opposition.

The outgoing AAP leader had unsuccessfully contested 2022 Goa legislative assembly election on party ticket from Mayem constituency.
Kalangutkar said that the common people in Goa want that all th opposition parties should unitedly fight against the BJP. “But the announcement by Kejriwal has indicated that division of votes will give advantage to the BJP,” he said.

Kejriwal had arrived in Goa on three day long visit during which he addressed various public meetings. He had also addressed a meeting in Mayem constituency which was participated by Kalangutkar.
