COVID-19: Goa reported 27  per cent positivity, 1592 new infections on Monday

Panaji: The tourist state of Goa continued to report intense rise in the number of COVID-19 positive cases with 27 per cent positivity reported on Monday, after 1592 people tested positive.

As per the health department, 1592 new positive cases were reported in the state on Monday taking the total toll to 1,91,501.

.The positivity rate hiked from 24,76 p percent on Sunday to 27.38  per cent on Monday.

The figures of fatalities due to COVID-19 infection touched 3,533 as one of the patients succumbed to the infection during the day. Total 23 patients were hospitalized during the day.

The number of recovered patients in the state rose to 177829 with 661 of them getting discharged on Monday . The number of active cases has peaked to 10139, the official said.

“With 5814 new tests, the total number of tests conducted in the state has gone up to 16,79,609,”  he added.
