Verna: Verna police on Thursday solved a robbery case arresting two persons who had snatched chain of a woman.
On 11.01.2021 a complaint was received from an Old lady resident of Cortalim that while she was travelling with her son in law alongwith the infant grandson on a scooter, one person on a bike snatched her gold chain after pushing her wherein she fell down on the road and got serioulsy injured. Verna Police immediately registered a robbery case as per Crime No.08/2021 u/s 394 IPC (Robbery).
Team led by Shri Sherif Jaques, Police Inspector and staff Police Constables Nilesh Kaskar, Avind Naik, Ajit Shirodkar Satish Lakade, Sainath Govekar and Muyjaved Khan developed leads and after sustained efforts arrested the accused persons, (1) Hussain Shaikh Raichur age:-20 yrs, r/o Near Santoshi Mata Temple, New Vaddem, Vasco-Goa and
(2) Ashpak Kadur age 24 yrs, r/o Near Ghaji Stop, New Vaddem, Vasco-Goa.
The accused have been found to be involved in another gold chain snatching case regd on 28.10.2020.
Gold w/Rs 1,00,000/- and scooter used in commission of crime have been recovered.
Further investigation is in progress.
A block in a building at Salai, Porvorim declared micro containment zone
Porvorim: District Administration has notified Block B of Madhuban Complex, Salai, Porvorim at Salvador-do-Mundo village panchayat as micro containment zone after COVID19 positive cases were reported from the building.
The micro containment zone was declared after Health Officer of Primary Health Centre at Porvorim reported about detection of COVID-19 cases in the Block B of the building.
North District Magistrate Ajit Roy issued the order.
