AAP Volunteers led by Rahul Mhambre protested in front of CM house, demanded CM Sawant to protect Goan interest

Aam Aadmi Party today held a protest at the Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant’s residence and while asserting that Mhadei was the lifeline of Goa said it cannot be sacrificed for the sake of Bharatiya Janata Party’s political agenda.
AAP delegation led by AAP Goa Convener Rahul Mhambre said the interest of Goa and Goans was primary and there can be no compromise of any nature on that.
He demanded that AAP should be a part of the all party delegation that will call on the central government over the matter and Dr Pramod Sawant agreed to it and he was also asked to fix up this appointment in Delhi as soon as possible.
AAP pointed out to the chief minister that he had sacrificed Mhadei river for the sake of his party politics and while arguing that he was the chief minister of Goa first and member of the BJP.
He said that it was unfortunate that even 18 years after having complained about diversion of Mhadei waters and the effect it will have on Goa neither the Congress in the past and Bharatiya Janata Party in present times have actually tried to save the river.
He castigated chief minister Dr Pramod Sawant for only blaming Congress for the Mhadei mess and pointed out that the BJP has been ruling for the last eight years and further questioned him on why he imported MLAs from the Congress party if it was so bad.
“The Water Resources Minister today is Philip Neri Rodrigues who was a minister in the earlier Congress government too so should be presume that the BJP is now following the same policy of betrayal of Goa and Goan interest that was done by Congress earlier?” he asked.
Rahul also asked the chief minister to take a stand on Mhadei issue with the Prime Minister to seek his help in protecting Mhadei River which is the main sweet water provider to Goa and pointed out that the level of the water in Goa was lower this year despite having received the highest rainfall in recent times.
