A male tourist from Bangalore was rescued earlier today at Calangute beach by Drishti lifesavers.
Earlier this evening, around 30 to 40 people were in the water at Calangute beach. Among them was a group of 04 boys from Bangalore. One of them drifted into the sea and got dragged about 20 to 25 mtrs seawards. The lifesaver patrolling the area spotted the male in distress. Lifesaver Jasley Rodrigues leaped onto a jet ski and rode into the waters. He secured the victim to the jet ski and brought him back safety to shore. The victim is safe and fine.
A number of beaches including Calangute have witnessed a high number of people heading to the beach, both locals and tourists.
