29 new cases reported on Saturday, 11 recovered

Panaji: Goa on Saturday reported 29 new cases of COVID-19 infection taking the tally to 754.

State Health Department said that total 754 cases including 625 active persons were reported in the state till date, through 51,404 samples that were taken since the outbreak of the virus.

On Saturday, 29 fresh cases were reported in the state while 11 had recovered and moved out of ESI hospital set up in Margao town.

While number of cases were reported from across the state, North Goa district administration has notified Xirent ward of Chimbel village near Panaji in North Goa as “micro containment zone.”

The authorities have issued orders of restraining the movement of people from Xirent ward after several persons were tested positive from there.

Government has already notified Mangor Hill in Vasco Town (South Goa) and Morlem in (North Goa) as containment zones, while Baina  in South Goa has been declared as micro containment zone in the past.

Goa’s COVID-19 figures are as follows: Positive cases: 754, new cases: 29, deaths: nil, discharged: 129, active cases 625, Samples tested till date: 51404.
